Day 2: Provision Beyond the Table
Reading: 1 Timothy 5:8 - Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
Devotional: Scripture warns that anyone who doesn't provide for their household has denied the faith. But provision means more than groceries and mortgage payments—it's about your presence, your leadership, and your ability to move your family forward spiritually and emotionally. Many families today are materially comfortable but relationally bankrupt. Parents work multiple jobs to provide things while children desperately need their time and attention. God calls us to a holistic provision that addresses the soul, not just the stomach. Your family needs you fully present, not just physically there but emotionally engaged and spiritually leading. When we neglect this broader understanding of provision, everyone feels that something is missing, even if they can't name it. True provision means showing up with your whole heart.
Reflection: In what ways are you truly providing for those in your household? Where might you need to shift from material provision to relational presence?
